The varied landscape of the Peak District makes it ideal for the walker , the cyclist (but before clicking on these two links we would urge you to firstly read further down this short page and to click as appropriate on the links on walking and cycling below, which are more dedicted to these activities in the immediate area of Cotterill Farm); or for those seeking more adventurous pursuits, there are opportunities for climbing , caving , watersports, hangliding , mountain biking etc.

We are generally considered to be in the best area for walking in the Peak District. Footpaths and bridleways abound, quite a few just from the end of our drive.

We are  just one mile from the famous Tissington Trail and within three miles of two further popular cycle trails and only 3 miles from a third trail, all of which follow the course of disused railways, and are of an average length of 15 miles in length. The National Cycle Network route 54, using a combination of bridleways, part of the trails and extremely quiet lanes, passes 50 yards from the end of our drive.. There is quite a network in fact of bridleways in the immediate vicinity, which are excellent for cycling on.
