Self-Catering Holiday Cottages in the Peak District National Park, England, UK

High quality vacation rental accommodation in a beautiful area of England.

At Cotterill Farm we have five non-smoking and pet-free holiday cottages for rental as self-catering (vacation rental) accommodation. These cottages are all graded with 4 Stars. We have been given the fairly rare Gold award in the grading process  'for excellence in quality, particularly with regard to service'

Two cottages are for four person occupancy, one, all on the ground floor is for three person occupancy, another cottage on two floors is also for three person occupancy, and one, a particularly spacious cottage,  is for two person occupancy.

One of the four person cottages has two double bedrooms, making it particularly suited for two couples. Three cottages have full Sky programmes and all but one has wi-fi internet access.

The cottages are superbly situated very close to the beautiful valley of Dovedale in a lovely part of the Peak District National Park, between the highly acclaimed village of Hartington and its smaller neighbour, Biggin-by-Hartington. Cotterill Farm is mainly surrounded by a nature reserve through which a footpath leads on its way down to the River Dove.

We are extremely well placed for most of the major tourist attractions of the area, such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Castleton Caverns, the Dove and Manifold Valleys, plus the attractive local towns of Buxton, Ashbourne, Bakewell and Leek. There is excellent walking and cycling from the doorstep. 80 yards from the end of our drive  is a superb well surfaced bridleway with excellent views which can be used for walking over to the honey pot village of Hartington - can be walked in ordinary shoes and takes just 20 minutes.  Sustrans Route 54 passes 50 yards  from the end of our drive,  and there are 3 cycle trails of average 15 miles length within 3 miles (one within one mile).

In 2012, from Easter through to end of October, we only take bookings in two of the cottages (The Dairy and Dale View) on a saturday to saturday basis,  we are going to be more flexible both about start dates and length of stays in our other cottages.

We also have three cottages, managed by our daughter, in the centre of the nearby village of Hartington. See our website at : www.hartingtoncottages.co.uk for further details.

We now hire out both electric bikes and conventional bikes to our guests. Click Here for more information about bike hire from Cotterill Farm and also about other hiring bases.

We still have one cottage sleeping three availability between 28th December and morning of 31st December, and one sleeping four available for 2 nights from 28th december.

LOW SEASON WINTER BOOKINGS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES: if it proves impossible to get here due to snow, then obviously no cancellation monies fall due for payment and any monies paid are rebated. If however you make a booking for any stay before the 11th February and decide you wish to cancel for WHATEVER reasons, we will let you re-schedule your stay, without cancellation/administration charges and book for another date anytime before mid March 2012, and should you NOT wish to reschedule your visit, then there will be a purely nominal cancellation/admin charge.  Might we add, that invariably we find in practice that our guests (nearly all of whom still come when snow has or is abut to fall) absolutely love being here with the snow on the ground. Noone has never not been able to make it to the pub yet because of the snow!
